Sun Travels and Tours is one of the leading tour operators and travel agents in the Maldives. It was founded and established in 1990 by Mr.Ahmed Siyam Mohamed. The primary business activity of the company is inbound tourism. With 17 years of experience we are now currently bringing over 20,000 passengers, showing that we have grown from being a relatively small business to one of the top ranked inbound operators in the country with strong ties with the resorts in Maldives as well as tour operators worldwide.
Our objective is to maintain a high standard of service in accordance with the requirements of the valued traveller. We are constantly thriving to increase the efficiency of the service provided, by creating a service where clients could contact our department and receive first hand information on the resorts and the services they offer.
Sun Properties
Our portfolio of products includes our very own exclusive resorts and safari boats. We own and operate two 4+ star resorts, one being Vilu Reef, which is located in South Nilandhe Atoll and Olhuveli in South Male’ Atoll. One luxury cruise vessel namely Sunset Queen and an up and coming luxury resort in the un-touched north atoll Haa Alif called Manafaru.
We also own a fleet of high speed transfer boats serving mainly the tourism industry by transferring clients to and fro the airport and resort. A recent addition is the Sun International Diving School and Sun Spa Resorts Pvt Ltd. created for the purpose of providing safe, professional and exciting diving, and developing and managing spa and wellness facilities. They have representation in both the resorts.
OUR SERVICES & ACCOLADES
We make resort bookings, working on allotment basis with a large number of resorts in Maldives. Presently we hold over 500 beds in resorts of different categories, to meet the demands of individual client needs. We do offer other services as arranging diving, surfing, safaris and special packages for honeymooners, groups, weddings and meet and greet service. Also we are a sales agent for Island Aviation, our national airline of the country, providing reservations and ticketing, and airline ground handling service to several charter flights as well.
To maintain the existing markets and develop new markets, we regularly organize familiarization tours to agents throughout the year. We also participate in several international travel exhibitions. Our efforts to constantly update and maintain the website at the top level was recognized by the International Association of Web Masters and Designers and thus awarded the prestigious Golden Web Award 2003 – 04 for excellence achieved in design, content and creativity. We also received the Gold Star Award for Quality 2000, the first Maldivian company to receive this prestigious award.
